March report

DONE:

 40. run at least a mile every day for a month - I did it!! It was really hard, but I made it happen. I also used it to raise money for Girls on the Run. April 1 was a well-earned rest day.

78. meet an online friend in person - done. I have a handful of online friends who are friends with my real life friends, and I met one of them at a party.



PROGRESS:

1. get a personal trainer certification - doing research into that one
13. get a dog - been working with two rescue groups. One of them has done a home visit.
15. coach for Girls on the Run - still doing it!
23. do a 50k - signed up to do one June 1
29. read a book every day for a year - so far, so good
88. volunteer at a race - I've committed to doing that in July
94. run the Flying Pig Marathon - I'm signed up
100. become a marathon maniac - I have a plan for this as well.


3 down, 98 to go....I need to get moving.

February Report

Nothing crossed off the list. February was just ridiculously stressful and it was all I could do to fulfill my existing responsibilities, let alone do anything extra!

...but.....

I did finish a book, so that streak is still on. I'm still coaching for GOTR, still training for the Flying Pig, I signed up to run a 50k on 6/1, and I'm making March my run streak month.

Not only that, I'm fundraising for GOTR while doing it - I'm collecting pledges per mile that I run in March.

So maybe February wasn't so non-productive after all. I just can't cross off anything on the list....yet. Wait for it, they'll all start snowballing soon here. :)

January report

It's a little early, but this next week, I can tell I'm going to be both too busy to blog and too busy to accomplish anything else. So, January's accomplishments:

DONE:

32. clean out and organize my jewelry - bought a jewelry box and cleaned out the tangled jumble of necklaces (it was BAD) and paired up my earrings. I kept a few of the unmatched ones that I like, just in case the other one pops up in a random place.

I may still do 43. track unnecessary purchases for a month and give the same amount to charity. I've thought about it a lot. I did splurge on myself quite a bit in January.


PROGRESS:

13. get a dog - I dogsat for a friend's two dogs while she was out of town. The experience helped us narrow down a little bit more what kind of dog would be a good fit for us (and our cats!)

15. coach for Girls on the Run - I attended coach training. The season starts next month. I'm not going to count this as complete until the season is over.

25. learn to breast stroke well - my master swim group had a stroke clinic. I worked on the breast stroke. A little. I still suck.

69. read a book every month for a year - January book is done!

94. run the Flying Pig Marathon - joined the training group. Following the plan.


ATTEMPTED BUT DID NOT SUCCEED....YET:

30. eat at the precinct - tried to do this on the anniversary of the day huz and I met, but couldn't get a reservation.

81. build a snowman - I really really really wanted to do this on new year's day to mark the beginning of this project...but all the snow melted. :(

95. be on time to everything for a week - yeah. This one is HARD.

Understudies and Pinch Hitters

I decided to come up with some alternate things. I'll still aim for the 101 things on my list, but there are other things that I'd like to accomplish, and I want to hold myself to them. Plus, if I miss something on the original list, then I'll have "backups" and still be able to say I accomplished 101 things.

Always be prepared. I was a girl scout.

Other options...will keep coming back and adding as I think of them:

102. set a new 5k PR
103. set a new half ironman PR
104. be a coach for an adult running group (not adult as in porno, adult as in not girls on the run...)

Here it is...in no particular order!!

1 get a personal trainer certification
2 bench press 100 lbs (at least) for 3 reps
3 run a sub 2 hour half marathon
4 do an unassisted pull-up
5 scrapbook wedding photos
6 organize all my notes from grad school
7 learn to ride a motorcycle
8 get yoga teacher certification
9 try a no!no! (yeah, the weirdo hair removal thing)
10 pay for someone else's groceries or meal at a restaurant
11 clean out all my clothes and make a big ol' goodwill donation
12 swap the rooms in my house that I want to swap (I've decided our current office would make a better guest room, the workout room would be a good office...etc.!)
13 get a dog
14 do a home improvement project that I don't know how to do yet
15 coach for Girls on the Run
16 take a pole dancing class
17 get boudoir pics done
18 accompany myself, singing, on one song (either on guitar or piano, but I don't currently own a piano)

21 ride the entire little Miami bike trail in one ride
22 run an entire marathon (no walk breaks besides water stops)

24 visit Las Vegas
25 learn to breast stroke well
26 go vegetarian for a week

28 do a race as part of a relay team
29 ride my bike up muchmore rd. (it's this road in Cincinnati. It's probably not the BIGGEST hill around, but it's one I tried to ride up. Once. At the beginning of my bike career. Every time I drive it now, I think "yeah, I could bike that" but something keeps me from trying...)
30 eat at the precinct (a nice, pricey local restaurant that I've wanted to eat at forever)
31 come up with a solid plan to start my own business
32 clean out and organize my jewelry
33 sew something from scratch
34 beat a video game
35 do some writing other than a blog - start a book, a presentation, a proposal - something of the sort
36 do a food challenge (one of the man vs. food sort of things)
